The cowboy boot which is the ‘main star’ on the front of our labels is actually a sketch of the above cowboy boots (with a spur added). The boots belong to Nikki, Murrays daughter.
The cowboy theme fits nicely with the Turner family as son Ben has been a Pro Bull rider in Canada over the last few years.
“A lifetime of painting in the Waitaki Valley goes some way to conveying my special take on this unique landscape, the people and its history.
I work in watercolour as I find it best capture our intense light and is also suitable for showing texture and detail in manmade structures and artifacts.
I also love to use humor – the ultimate ‘short-circuit’ ”

We wanted a special label for our Pinot Rose 2016. Something that depicted a typical Waitaki Valley summer with a scene from the 1950’s era.
Who better to ask than renowned local artist Burns Pollock. His painting on this label captures everything that a Rose wine depicts. Summer; colour ; fun; lakes; fishing. Its part of our Rose Summer series : ‘Picnic at Fishermans Bend’.
